Against the backdrop of the delay of the developers of Battlefield 2042 with the release of new content online shooter on Steam has been greatly reduced since the release. Halo found itself in a similar situation: Infinite.

The launch of the shooter in November 2021 was a record for Microsoft throughout its presence on the platform. Free multiplayer attracted more than 272 thousand simultaneous users at the start, but in March online fell to 10 thousand, and today the daily peak of simultaneous players in Halo: Infinite for the first time dropped below Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

According to SteamDB, on April 14, the collection of remasters of old parts of Halo at the peak simultaneously played 9.124 people, while in the free multiplayer Halo: Infinite this figure was 7.842.

Both Battlefield 2042 and Halo: Infinite are currently waiting for the start of new seasons, which in theory should bring back some of the players who have left.

Halo: Infinite will get a second season on May 3, while BF2042 hasn't even started yet. According to DICE plans, it should start only in the summer, but next week there will be a major technical update 4.0 with many corrections and balance changes.
