Sony Interactive Entertainment is going to "focus hard" on the PlayStation Plus subscription service and make it closer to the Xbox Game Pass.

Such plans were shared by game analyst Rythian, who previously announced Sony's interest in the new part of the PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale fighting game for PlayStation 5.

According to an insider, large-scale changes with PS Plus will begin to occur in 2023 and will include the refusal to update the PS Plus Extra library once a month.

Instead, Sony allegedly plans to add new games to the service "at any time" like Game Pass, which will allow PlayStation Plus users to offer more new products immediately on the day of release.

Sony also wants to launch new games created by third-party developers with the support of its European, British and Chinese studios and divisions more often.

At the same time, top titles from internal PlayStation Studios developers plan to add to the subscription no earlier than a year after their premiere.

Now PlayStation Plus is expanding mainly with old or relatively old projects, but Sony also has experience with Day One subscription releases.

From recent examples, we can recall the Stray adventure game, which appeared in PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium simultaneously with the start of sales.
