In a 2022 report, Remedy Entertainment confirmed that Alan Wake II is still scheduled for release this year.

The project is in the final stages of production and will be released by Epic Games Publishing for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through the Epic Games Store.

In addition, Remedy has updated information on the status of other projects. Control 2, the co-op spin-off of the Codename Condor series, and the free-to-play multiplayer game Codename Vanguard are in proof-of-concept.

The studio explained that at this stage, a demo is created, a part of the game that is close to final quality. In this way, the creators test the viability of the idea, identifying risks and potential bottlenecks, and draw up a detailed plan for subsequent production.

As for the remake of Max Payne 1-2, it is at the concept stage. According to Remedy, this stage involves the detailed development of the narrative, themes, key characters, art style, game design, as well as the main gameplay elements. When this is done, a simplified prototype is created based on them, which allows you to test the concept for its subsequent iteration.
