Anatoly Smorgonsky, the head of the Russian Gett division, presented the domestic analogue of Google Play. The Russian app store for Android users is called RuMarket. It is expected that investments in the project will amount to about 100 million rubles, not counting the amount for marketing promotion.

On Rumarket, applications of large Russian banks and other necessary services are available. The first version of the store will be free for users and developers. In the next iterations, it is planned to expand the functionality, including the introduction of monetization, differentiation of applications by rating and security. In addition, applications will be moderated and scanned by the system for viruses.

We remind you that the owners of AppStore, Google Play and App Gallery have removed the applications of Russian banks that have been sanctioned, including Sberbank Online and Alfa-Bank's solution. In early April, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the app Store and Google Play could soon stop letting you download apps in Russia, so you need to create your own platform.

The head of government said that the Ministry of Digital Affairs is developing a Russian online store on the Android platform, which should start operating in the summer of 2022.
