Seagate is no longer the only choice when it comes to increasing the storage of the Xbox Series X|S, as Western Digital's memory expansion cards officially went on sale today.
The 1TB WD_Black C50 series card will cost customers the same $149.99 as for the Seagate version with a similar amount of memory, but the 512 GB version costs $79.99, which is $10 cheaper than its competitor.
In addition, both Western Digital cards come with a free monthly subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
The WD_Black C50 was the first alternative to the cards from Seagate, which were released together with Microsoft consoles and until recently remained the only full-fledged way to expand the Xbox Series X|S storage.
Recall that games that are backward compatible with Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Xbox Original can be run on Xbox Series X|S from any external USB drive, but this option is not available for native games because they require a read/write speed comparable to the console's internal SSD.
