Sony Interactive Entertainment has registered a new patent describing the process of creating a new social gaming platform designed to help users with discussing and passing complex game episodes.
The document drew the attention of representatives of the media.
In particular, the patent describes an algorithm that automatically collects information about the game progress of users on the PlayStation and allows them to interact with other players experiencing the same problems.
At the same time, special attention is paid to avoiding spoilers — the system carefully analyzes all available data so that you do not accidentally stumble upon unwanted information, if you do not want it yourself.
Sony notes that its idea can completely replace gaming forums — or at least become an alternative to them.
In particular, we are talking about branches where users discuss the passage of games, share tactics and ask for help from each other.
According to the patent, on familiar network platforms, a player can stumble upon unwanted spoilers and spoil his impressions of the game, but not on Sony's social platform.
Sony points out that its system will be able to automatically link players trying to deal with the same problem in the game to communicate and find a solution in tandem.
She believes that it would be useful when completing projects such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and God of War Ragnarok.
The main advantages are social interaction and the lack of risk of running into plot spoilers on the network. Earlier, Sony also registered a patent for a new generation vibration.
