Sony is preparing a redesign of the PlayStation 5 - the new model will be released in the third quarter of 2023

The Leak portal reports that next year the PlayStation 5 is waiting for the first major redesign since launch.

The new version of the console will allegedly be very different in appearance from the current model, which already has three revisions with minor changes to internal components.

The source of the publication claims that the updated PS5 will receive a processor with an even lower technical process, thanks to which it was possible to reduce the size of the console and power consumption, as well as make it colder.

In addition, it is noted that the new model may refuse a stand for horizontal positioning. All this is necessary in order to reduce the costs of transportation and production.

At the same time, Sony, most likely, will not officially name it or position it as a Slim version.

According to The Leak, production of the new PS5 model should begin in the second quarter of 2023, and the retail release in the third.

Earlier, Tom Henderson said that in September next year, the PS5 model range should be replaced with one universal version with a detachable drive, which can be purchased separately or purchased bundled with the console.

Also, according to rumors, a Pro version of the PlayStation 5 is in development.
