In an interview with the Financial Times, Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida spoke about the development of the cloud market.

He noted that there are still a lot of restrictions in this segment that restrain the company in the issue of active development of this direction.

According to Yoshida, "clouds" are an interesting business model, but technical difficulties have not yet been completely eliminated by anyone, especially when it comes to input delays in games.

Nevertheless, the company will continue to explore "various options" for the implementation of game streaming over the Internet, not excluding the use of GT Sophy — its artificial intelligence system.

According to Yoshida, one of the problems is also the dynamics of the popularity of games during the day — millions of people work or study during the day, and games are launched in the late afternoon or at night.

The huge load at certain hours makes the support of the cloud infrastructure very expensive.

Earlier, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan said earlier that the company has an "aggressive strategy" for the development of the cloud industry.

Subsequently, the company introduced a portable Project Q device for streaming games from PlayStation 5, which was criticized by both ordinary users and Digital Foundry experts.
