Swagboxes will appear in the new Skate

According to the Skate developers, the new skateboarding simulator will not have paid loot boxes, but as it turned out as part of a recent playtest, the mechanics themselves will not be completely abandoned.

Players will be able to open the so-called swagboxes or swagbags - bags with things for athletes and decor elements for skate parks.

Swagbags will allow you to buy for the virtual currency mined during the game - the so-called taps. They are earned by completing challenges and tricks, as well as by exploring game zones.

It is not yet entirely clear whether it will be possible to buy taps for real money, but even if so, they will not give virtual currency, according to the assurances of the authors, they will not be allowed to spend it on modifiers that affect the gameplay.

Recall that the new part of the Skate series was decided to be shareware. Microtransactions will appear in the game, but will affect mainly cosmetics.

Well-known insider Tom Henderson says that for money they can also offer battle passes with sets of taps and other items, but this issue has not yet been finalized.

Earlier, Electronic Arts urged players not to download an illegal Skate assembly that got into the network.
