The creator of Psychonauts and Brutal Legend Tim Shafer will be included in the Hall of Fame of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences

Tim Shafer, the founder and head of the Double Fine Studio, is waiting for a place in the Hall of Fame.

On February 23, the annual award ceremony of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences D. I. C. E. Awards 2023 will be held, where the best games will be named and outstanding developers will be noted.

Shafer is a veteran of the gaming industry, he has been working in it for more than 30 years.

The developer began his career in 1989 when he got a job as a programmer at LucasArts, where he worked on Indiana Jones and the last Crusade and Maniac Mansion.

There he met Ron Gilbert, who invited him to do The Secret of Monkey Island and its sequel. Then Shafer released Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle and Grim Fandango, which many players liked.

In 2000, the developer founded his own studio, where he worked on Broken Age, Psychonauts, Brutal Legend and other projects.

Previously, the Hall of Fame of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences included Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear Solid), Todd Howard (The Elder Scrolls), Ed Boone (Mortal Kombat), brothers Dan and Sam Hauser (Grand Theft Auto) and other industry representatives who managed to create games that contributed to the development of an entire genre.
