According to Tom Henderson's sources, Splash Damage Studio (Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection) is developing a third-person MMO codenamed Fortress for "Transformers".

The project will be distributed on a shareware model and will offer a team experience of playing for transformers with a division into classes. The source of inspiration is Destiny.

The release is expected in 2023.

According to Hendersen, we are talking about the very game called Transformers Rise, in which the developers attributed the studio to Certain Affinity (co-production and support of Halo: Infinite).

Initially, the project was really handled by Certain, but eventually the project passed into the hands of Splash Damage, having undergone some changes.

In terms of the plot, Fortress will offer a story about a confrontation on Earth with new enemies called Legion, which consist of organic and inorganic matter and can infect transformers, turning them into larger and villainous versions of themselves.

Unreal Engine 4 acts as the engine. One source noted that the game feels very outdated, but at the same time has potential.
