Animator and screenwriter Justin Royland has left the post of head of the studio Squanch Games. The team announced this on social networks.
The reason for the break in cooperation was the trial.
Royland, who is one of the creators of the animated series "Rick and Morty" (Rick and Morty), is accused of domestic violence, and the investigation was initiated back in 2020.
The studio was founded by an animator in 2016. As Royland himself said, Squanch Games was faced with the task of bringing his gaming fantasies to life.
As a result, the team released four projects, the most popular of which was the High on Life shooter released at the end of 2022. As stated in the statement, Justin Royland resigned on January 16.
At the same time, the studio will continue to work on new projects and support High on Life. Earlier it became known that Warner Bros. broke off cooperation with the animator.
