Ubisoft has decided to close its branch in Italy, according to the Multiplayer portal. it with reference to the official statement of the publisher.

At the same time, the company confirmed that it will leave the studio in Milan responsible for the Mario + Rabbids series to work.

It is noted that only the division responsible for distribution, public relations and marketing in Italy will be reduced.

The decision was made in connection with the restructuring carried out by the publishing house in its European branches.

Earlier, for the same reason, it was announced the closure of a number of Ubisoft offices located in the Benelux countries.

The goal is to reduce unnecessary fixed costs, such as the maintenance of offices and warehouses, by eliminating the company's departments that distribute games on physical media.

According to Ubisoft, this market shows a decline in sales and no longer justifies such a wide presence in every territory.
