Warner Bros. will release an anime based on the “Lord of the Rings” – the first images are presented

Film company Warner Bros. showed the first concept art of the anime " The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim " and announced the release date of the project. The feature-length animated film will premiere on April 21, 2024 .

The production is handled by Sola Entertainment . The director is Kenji Kamiyama , who previously worked on the series " Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Syndrome ", as well as on " Black Lotus " based on " Blade Runner ". Phoebe Gittins and Art Papageorgiou , familiar to viewers from The Sorrows , are responsible for the script.

The action of the "War of the Rohirrim" takes place long before "The Hobbit " and " Lord of rings." The film tells about the ninth king of Rohan, Helm Hammerhand, who built a fortress called Helm's Deep.

The animated film is not related to Amazon 's The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power series in any way.
