Disney is preparing to release its own "killer" Super Smash Bros. under the name Disney Domination. The first details and screenshots of the fighting game appeared on Reddit today.
According to the leak, Disney Domination has been in production since May 2018 and is being created with an AAA-class title budget.
Who exactly is behind the development of the game is not yet known for sure, but it is assumed that it could be Square Enix.
One of the features of the project should be its visual — unlike the typical cartoon graphics that players are used to seeing in fighting games of this type, Disney Domination will look like a "next generation" game, and the art style will look like something close to Unreal Engine 5.
In addition to a variety of multiplayer modes, including online-battles for 12 players with voice chat support, Disney Domination will receive a large-scale single-player campaign, which will be a traditional 2D platformer, as well as 55 heroes and 60 levels at the start.
The game is described as "daring" with a twisted plot in the spirit of anime, and Mickey Mouse will definitely appear among the characters.
It is reported that the fighting game also has a hub called "The Lounge", where players will be able to communicate and post their work, including alternative skins, stages and even music.
The release is scheduled for 2024.
