The launch of PlayStation VR2, it seems, did not work out.
According to recent analyst estimates, in the first month Sony's new virtual reality headset sold out in the amount of only 270 thousand pieces against the background of high prices and a weak starting line.
In addition, there was information that Sony could still reduce its plans for a new device.
According to a well-known insider in Apple circles, Ming-Chi Kuo, Sony has reduced its plans for the PlayStation VR2 production volume for 2023 by about 20%.
He did not disclose exact figures, but before the launch, it was reported that the platform holder expected to release 2 million units of the headset by the end of March.
A possible reduction in the production of the PS MK2 due to allegedly low pre-orders was mentioned earlier, but then Sony quickly denied the rumors, saying that on the contrary, it was observing interest in launching a headset.
PS VR2 was released worldwide on February 22.
