Sony Interactive Entertainment has expanded its presence in the online gaming world by launching the PlayStation Esports YouTube channel this week.
The PlayStation Esports channel will be completely dedicated to competitive games and, among other things, will be able to offer subscribers interviews with professional players, tips, tricks, guides, videos with highlights and other exclusive content from the esports field on PlayStation.
At the moment, just over 650 people have signed up for PS Esports. Sony has long had some interest in the esports scene.
In March 2021, the platform holder, together with the RTS venture fund, bought the rights to the Evolution Championship Series (EVO), the world's largest esports fighting game tournament, where disciplines on Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Street Fighter and other games of the genre are held.
In addition, last November Sony launched a feature on PS4 and PS5 called "PlayStation Tournaments", which opens access to organized competitions on competitive projects and gives players a chance to win digital and physical prizes.
