Analysts from DFC Intelligence believe that new Microsoft exclusives, such as Starfield, Forza Motorsport and Redfall, will not be enough to recapture part of the console market from Sony and push the PlayStation 5 from the leading positions in 2023.

According to forecasts, there will be more exclusives from Microsoft in the coming years, but now the American corporation continues to be in the status of catching up both in the number of high-profile games and in the availability of current consoles on the market.

In addition, DFC Intelligence notes that all Microsoft games are released on the first day on the PC, which means that in the long run the audience will have less incentive to get an Xbox console than in the case of PlayStation.

"Will Microsoft's new games be able to encourage players to buy Xbox Series X|S instead of PlayStation 5 in 2023? Currently, we are ready to answer in the negative.

Yes, Xbox has several major exclusives on the way, but they are not enough to win back part of the market from PlayStation.

A more serious question is what role exclusives will play in a multiplatform environment in the long term.

Right now, players can buy PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch by signing up for Xbox Game Pass on PC along the way. There is no special need to buy Xbox hardware."

Microsoft has recently started teasing a new Xbox console, which will replace the Xbox Series X|S.
