Capcom has applied for registration in the USA of the trademarks S. T. A. R. S. Dep Raccoon Police and Resident Evil Director's Cut.
The trademark Resident Evil Director's Cut was already registered in 1998 for the reissue of the original Resident Evil, but in 2012 the company lost the rights to it due to non-use.
Now Capcom again needed the Resident Evil Director's Cut trademark for some purpose.
The application is submitted in the category of goods and services, which covers downloadable software and video games.
In the case of the trademark S. T. A. R. S. Dep Raccoon Police, the application is for the Raccoon City Police Department logo and includes categories such as video games, gaming content, clothing and related products.
Now Capcom is preparing to release a remake of Resident Evil 4.
As for the update of the first part, the company has not yet shared such plans, while the game already had a remake, and even its HD reissue.
