The new developer of the Vampire role-playing game: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 may be the British indie studio The Chinese Room, known for the adventure game Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.

Bloodlines 2 was originally created by Hardsuit Labs, but at the beginning of 2021, Paradox Interactive announced the rejection of further cooperation with developers.

A certain "well-respected and talented" studio, whose name is still not officially disclosed, then undertook to finish the project.

The assumption about The Chinese Room arose after the studio's recently posted video, in which monitors with menus and gameplay footage from a certain game resembling Bloodlines 2 flashed by at the two-minute mark.

At the moment, this is only an assumption, but a few months ago a rumor appeared on the network that The Chinese Room was engaged in the project, and the studio itself has been actively hiring and continues to hire employees over the past year, including for an AAA project on the Unreal Engine 4 engine.

Also on the web, you can find the old vacancy of The Chinese Room for the position of game director, where the requirements for the candidate indicated the presence of experience as a leading game designer and experience and interest in certain types of games, such as first-person games, story, action adventures, RPG and horror, which fits the definition of Bloodlines 2.

In November, Paradox CEO Fredrik Wester said that the project is in good hands and did not rule out that the game may soon have a new release date.
