Developer Sam Chiet moved the original DOOM to Notepad.

The text editor included in the basic set of programs of the Windows operating system allowed you to play a classic shooter with a frequency of 60 frames per second.

An American blogger, known online under the pseudonym Samperson, used ASCII graphics to display the picture. A video with a demonstration of the gameplay can be viewed below.

The developer assures that it has not been accelerated, and the application code has not changed. Within a couple of days, Chiet plans to put NotepadDOOM into open access.

The blogger's brainchild has already been commented on by one of the creators of the shooter, John Romero, who wrote on Twitter: "Incredible."
