The creators of the Splinter Cell remake have joined the work on the Far Cry series

The creators of the upcoming Splinter Cell remake from Ubisoft Torronto have joined the work on the Far Cry series together with Ubisoft Montreal.

This became known thanks to the fresh vacancies of the studio. In January of this year, insider Tom Henderson reported that Ubisoft is working on two new Far Cry.

The first is codenamed Project Blackbird and will be the next major release in the series, and the second — Project Maverick — is an entirely multiplayer title based on resource extraction.

At the same time, initially both of them were planned to be part of one game (Project Talisker), but as development progressed they grew into separate projects.

Which of these two Far Cry is being developed jointly with the Canadian Ubisoft Torronto, is not reported.

In addition, Ubisoft Torronto recently assembled a team for a "special secret show" with an "exciting preliminary look" at two certain projects.

The studio tweeted several pictures from the closed event, but what exactly was shown to employees remains behind the scenes.

Perhaps a public demonstration of these materials will take place on June 12 at the presentation of Ubisoft Forward 2023.

Henderson doesn't know exactly when these games will be released, but he believes that it will take another year and a half before some of Ubisoft's major blockbusters will see the light.

It is expected that the release of the new Far Cry, as well as the next main Ghost Recon and multiplayer Assassin's Creed will take place approximately in 2025, although delays are not excluded.
