The fast-paced Cult of the Lamb bagel and religious cult simulator, created by the Massive Monster team, could become part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription.

However, this did not happen, as Sony allegedly entered into a contract with Devolver Digital Publishing, prohibiting the premiere of the novelty on the Microsoft platform.

This was announced by journalist Gary Whitta as part of a new issue of the podcast Kinda Funny Games.

The informant did not specify his sources, but noted that, according to his data, the absence of Cult of the Lamb is due precisely to the actions of Sony.

Cult of the Lamb is a multiplatform game, but Sony apparently has marketing rights to advertise PlayStation with it in conjunction.

According to Whitta, against this background, the platform holder cannot allow free distribution of the project in a subscription on a competing platform.

Recently, Microsoft management explicitly stated that Sony is holding back the development of Game Pass, prohibiting partners to release games in the service.

Examples were provided to the Brazilian antitrust authorities, but the document was not online.

Cult of the Lamb was released on all relevant platforms a week ago and has already attracted a million people.
