On February 10, Square Enix announced the release of LIVE A LIVE on the Nintendo Switch. The project will be presented in the form of the so-called "HD-2D" remake of the role-playing game once released in Japan on the Super Famicom console.
LIVE A LIVE is expected to take on a new life on the modern platform, and for the first time western players will be able to get acquainted with the legendary adventure, executed in the same graphic style as Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy.
The heroes of the remake will be seven characters who have their own set of unique abilities and live in different historical eras. You can pass stories in any order, the list of locations and heroes is shown below:
- Prehistoric period. The young man has to become full-fledged a world without words.
- The Wild West. The outcast, for whose head the award has been given, fights for his life.
- Ancient China. Master Kung Fu is looking for a worthy successor.
- Japan, the end of the Edo era. Ninja goes on an important secret mission.
- Today. The martial arts master tries to reach perfection.
- A teenager with psychic abilities fights evil.
- The future is distant. The newly assembled robot becomes a participant in the tragedy in space.

LIVE A LIVE on the Nintendo Switch will be released on July 22, 2022.
