The audience of RuTube allegedly did not change, although the platform representative did not agree with the final assessment. He noted the "unprecedented" growth of media indicators in March, saying that the amount of downloaded content increased almost 14 times, compared to February.
Facebook* and Instagram* traffic dropped by more than 70% after blocking.
TelecomDaily CEO Denis Kuskov connects the situation with the departure from Russia of some foreign services, the need for the content of which has not disappeared in people.
"Not all content can be provided by domestic platforms, besides on torrent trackers it is possible to find and pirate software",— he added.
Chairman of the Board of the Digital Economy Development Fund and founder of LiveInternet Herman Klimenko, in turn, noted that against the background of blocking and DDoS attacks, RuTracker traffic increased by 40%.
Director General of TMT Consulting Konstantin Ankilov says that the most popular and heavy in terms of traffic content that users download from torrents are movies and video games.
"Against the backdrop of the withdrawal from the Russian market of platforms such as Netflix, of online cinemas, the growth in traffic to torrent trackers will grow. "
Earlier, Russia proposed to allow the free distribution of cinema, music and games of foreign companies that left the market.
