For a long time, there was an opinion that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots remained a PS3 exclusive due to a deal with Sony. However, Ryan Payton, a former producer of Kojima Productions, claims that the reason was different, namely, Kojima's unwillingness to do porting.

Interestingly, this information was published in Stephen Kent's book on the gaming industry and was released last year, but the media paid attention to it only recently.

ResetEra suggested that the game designer did not want to "mess around" with transferring the game to the Xbox 360 due to insufficient storage space. Recall that the volume of the stealth action was about 30 GB - this is quite a lot by the standards of 2008. Plus, the hard drive for the Microsoft console at that time served only as an optional accessory.

However, these difficulties did not prevent Square Enix from releasing Final Fantasy XIII on two discs, sacrificing the quality of the videos.
