Released exclusively on the GameCube console in 2004, the remake of the first part of Metal Gear Solid with the subtitle The Twin Snakes can be re-released on modern platforms.

This was hinted at by a well-known insider, Nick Baker.

Shortly after the publication of the news about the upcoming remasters of the first Metal Gear Solid, he posted a pair of emojis with snakes on his social networks.

Recall that Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes was developed for GameCube by Konami and the now disbanded studio Silicon Knights with the support of Nintendo.

The project was watched by Metal Gear's father Hideo Kojima and the creator of Super Mario Shigeru Miyamoto.

The idea was to release a remake of the first Metal Gear Solid with gameplay elements of Metal Gear Solid 2.

One of the features of the game were cutscenes from the Japanese director Ryuhei Kitamura — initially he was going to match the original approach of Kojima, but he asked that everything be performed in the corporate style of the director.

The game received good ratings, but fans argued for a long time about Kitamura's videos — some liked them, and others considered the director's style inappropriate within Metal Gear Solid.

Kitamura actively used the Matrix-inspired Bullet-Time technique. The Twin Snakes was released in 2004 and has never been reprinted.
