The best-selling virtual reality helmet in the world is Oculus Quest 2 from Meta*. This was reported by the IDC analytical company in its report.

The helmet was launched at the Facebook** Connect presentation in September 2020, and by the first quarter of 2022 its sales reached the mark of 15 million pieces. We are talking about record rates and record figures for the VR industry.

It is noted that in 2021, the demand for VR headsets among consumers increased by 97%, in the first quarter of 2022 — by 242%. Meta* Quest 2 has become one of the main drivers of growth — buyers are attracted by the price ($299), the ability to use the device autonomously (PC is not required) and a selection of games, among which there are such exclusives as Resident Evil 4 VR.

Sony Interactive Entertainment is currently preparing a new virtual reality helmet for launch. The first PlayStation headset was released in 2016 organization and prohibited in Russia.
