Recall that in the European region, Wii U and 3DS users lost the opportunity to buy digital games using credit cards two years ago, but the virtual wallet for making purchases could still be replenished by activating eShop prepaid cards. On August 29, 2022, the ability to replenish the wallet using the Nintendo eShop Card will be blocked.

The remaining funds must be spent by March 27, 2023.

Players who combine their funds associated with the Nintendo Network code (used in the Nintendo eShop for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS) with funds associated with their Nintendo account (used in the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch) will be able to use the combined funds to purchase content on any of these consoles and systems until March 27, 2023.

Until March 27, 2023, you can also activate game codes in eShop on Wii U and 3DS — if you still find them available from third-party retailers.

After March 27, eShop will continue to operate in a limited mode — players will be able to download previously purchased and deleted from the game consoles.

Online in popular games will also continue to work."We

we recommend that all users use Nintendo eShop tools for Wii U or Nintendo 3DS until March 27, 2023, after which date it will be impossible to purchase content, "Nintendo said.

The company also indicated that sales of the digital version of the game Fire Emblem Fates for Nintendo 3DS will stop on February 28, 2023.

"Additional content for Fire Emblem Fates, including storylines that open after Chapter 6, will remain available until March 27, 2023." There are no scheduled changes to eShop on Nintendo Switch.

The Russian segment of the hybrid console store has been "in maintenance mode" since March 2022.
