The Danish company Nordisk Games announced the acquisition of 100% of the shares of the independent British studio Supermassive Games, best known for interactive horror Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology and The Quarry.
Since March last year, Nordisk Games has owned 30.7% of the shares of Supermassive Games.
The value of the deal is not yet disclosed, but it is already known that after its closure, all jobs will be preserved, and the management will remain the same. Employees were also promised to provide additional resources for further development.
Nordisk Games, after this deal, has the following game studios: Avalanche Studios Group, Star Stable Entertainment, Nitro Games, Flashbulb Games, MercurySteam (40%), Supermassive Games and Kogama.com. Among other things, Nordisk Games owns one of the world's oldest film companies, Nordisk Film.
Supermassive Games is
currently developing its next anthology project, The Dark Pictures, called The Devil in Me. It will be released this fall.
