PlayStation 6 with the "next generation" chip is probably already under development

AMD has opened a new job on LinkedIn looking for a SoC verification engineer to join the team creating the chips for also the latest graphics chips of the RDNA family to participate in the next generation processor development project.

“We are currently looking for a system-on-chip engineer who will be part of the team working on the sophisticated next-generation SoC design. The selected candidate will play a key role in the SoC verification by fulfilling functional, power and performance responsibilities in the simulation and hardware emulation environment.”

Although some players may find it strange to start creating new Xbox and PlayStation without improving the delivery of old ones, it is not surprising.
