The next brand new franchise from the creators of Halo and Destiny is due to launch in 2025 — information about this is provided in Microsoft documentation, which became public as part of a lawsuit with the US Federal Trade Commission.
We are talking about Bungie's new IP studio codenamed Matter.
"As of 2021, Bungie has more than doubled the size of its headquarters and plans to open a new studio in Amsterdam by 2022 to further support Destiny 2 and develop a project for a new IP, the release of which is currently expected in 2025," Microsoft said in a document for 2021.
Such close attention to Bungie was due to Microsoft's desire to buy this studio. As a result, she left for Sony, but will continue to make multiplatform games.
It is believed that Matter can be a fantasy role-playing game or a hybrid of a multiplayer shooter and RPG. Bungie itself recently announced the relaunch of its old Marathon franchise.
