Twitter user Renka Schedule noted that Japanese retailer Geo Online opened on its website a page of a new revision of PlayStation 5 number CFI-1200, which was approved by the Japanese authorities back in May.
The store indicated the release date of the updated console on September 15 of this year, which coincides with the previously announced price increase for PS5 in Japan.
The latest version of the PS5 (CFI-1100) was released in August 2021.
The console became 300 grams lighter due to a reduced and simpler radiator and received an updated screw for fixing the stand with the possibility of screwing without a screwdriver.
What updates the next revision will bring is not yet known.
It is possible that this will be a minor change, as there are rumors about the release of the next year's PS5 Slim version with a 6nm process chip.
It is unlikely that Sony will radically update the console now.
