The South Korean company Krafton (PUB, The Callisto Protocol) has announced plans to acquire the Swedish studio Neon Giant.

The team was founded in 2018 by veteran developers who had a hand in creating such games and series as Bulletstorm, Far Cry 3, Gears of War, Wolfenstein and DOOM.

Neon Giant's debut project was a twinstick shooter on the theme of cyberpunk The Ascent, released in 2021.

It is not disclosed when the transaction will be closed and how much it will cost the publisher.

In addition, Krafton is going to create a large in-house studio in Canada, which will lead the development of a game based on the series of fantasy novels by writer Lee Endo "The Bird that Drinks Tears", inspired by Korean mythology.

Earlier, the company showed the first art and trailer of the project.
