According to a press release published by the organizers of the exhibition, the total number of visitors to TGS 2022 was 138,192 people, which is a little more than half of the result of the Tokyo Game Show 2019, which was the last Japanese exhibition before the start of COVID-19.

Then the show attracted 262,076 visitors. In 2020 and 2021, the Tokyo Game Show was held exclusively in digital format.

The TGS 2022 returned to its traditional form and was open for visitors from 15 to 18 September.

The Makuhari Messe complex in Chiba was once again the venue of the exhibition, but due to the policy of local authorities regarding COVID-19, a limited number of tickets were on sale.

Although the E3 did not happen this year, physical exhibitions are gradually returning to operation.

In August, the German Gamescom took place, and in October, the Brasil Game Show, the largest game show in Latin America, will take place.
