FIFA 22 EA will leave in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team mode with lootboxes

Electronic Arts confirmed that Ultimate Team lootboxes will appear in FIFA 23, despite criticism of monetization from various commissions and the UK government in particular for a possible connection with gambling.

The company believes that Ultimate Team and paid bundles, which have been part of FIFA for more than a decade, are loved by players.

According to Electronic Arts, fans like that the game reflects real passion and allows them to manage the team. The opportunity to spend money for the company seems “fair”.

The main argument of Electronic Arts was the optional purchase of FUT Packs, which can be earned directly in the game itself.

The company emphasizes that it does not force players to spend money, and 9 out of 10 sets in FIFA 22 were opened without spending real funds.

FIFA 23 is released on September 30, 2022 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Google Stadia.
